Welcome to DenisEvents

A Multifunctional blog on Japan, Events, Social Responsibility & Environment

Initially, you will find, on the home page, a few postings on Kyoto, its culture and its secrets. On the long run, you are invited to discover articles and photos about Japan in its past, present and future. I consider every topic as an “event” in itself and once I master this new media, I will try to expose these events under the light of their social, cultural, economic and/or political impact and relation. On the special event page, I will announce upcoming events in Japan, so it is always a good option to getting informed. If you want to announce an event, use the “comment” channel to do so.
My first objective is to tame the tool itself in order to present my content in more attractive, accurate and logical terms as well as with better aesthetics. Second, I will try to raise discussions concerning the concept of “environment-friendly events” and its implications for planning, organization and supply chain. The production team of any such event should always scrutinize all suppliers on the basis of their experience as well as their ability to produce sustainable and environmentally-oriented events. All wastes should be eliminated at the source. This gives a touch of class to your event and you gain recognition for your good practices as you use less and you are more energy-efficient. Since I’ve live in Japan, I’ve met with partners who care about this issue and they work very hard to foster and integrate these values at the corporate level. We may try to do our best as individuals, but it is my belief that corporations are the ones who should make improvements.
On a more personal level, I possess a Master degree in Sociology and a Bachelor in Communication and East Asian Studies. I have more than 20 years of progressive experience in the hospitality industry and in many aspects of event planning.
A blog offers a lot of freedom and I will leave my freedom of thought all the room it needs to raise issues that may even be controversial in a corporate or public organization. Your contribution is welcomed through the comments channel. So please enjoy the site, visit from time to time, and appreciate the progression!

One Response to “About”

  1. To whom it may concern:

I am the editor for the largest tourism newspaper here in Japan called, “Japan-i” (www.japan-i.jp) and I am actually looking to trade links with websites worldwide to increase our website visibility. We’re looking for any links that are relevant to Japan, Japanese culture, and Japanese tourism. I came across your website and I thought your website would be suitable for the link exchange. If possible, I’d like to send you a PDF about our link exchange campaign and hope this interest you.

Many thanks, I hope to hear from you soon.

    Best regards,
